This is our Spring 2006 Celtic Games booth at the Woodland fairgrounds. This is an annual event our group supports by show casing the Shetland Sheepdog breed. The 2006 games were held April 28th and 29th. It's a lot of fun and there are always lots of Shelties. Come join us and bring yours!

Sheltie Rescue had a booth at the "Collie Artistry Weekend" held May 20, 2006 at the beautiful Willowside Ranch in Pescadero (just south of Half Moon Bay.) This wonderful two day event was coordinated and produced by Vicki-Doyle Jones, Sheltie and Collie rescue friend extraordinaire. Activities included an AKC Herding Trial; a Collie and herding breed art show and sale, which included art made from various mediums; Canine Good Citizen (CGC)temperament testing and; the opportunity to have a skilled canine chiropractor assess our Shelties.
We had a booth at the UC Davis Picnic Day Open House on April 1, 2006 to spread the word about Sheltie rescue. Volunteers Elise, Nancy, Terry, Gale Ann and Thelma responded to questions from hundreds of people attracted to our booth by the beauty and charm of the Shelties there with us. Shelties are pure people magnets!
Fun and Games at our Annual Sheltie Picnic held in Elk Grove on July 14, 2007. Over fifty Shelties and their humans attended. Watch our Events Page for information on when and where the 2008 Summer Picnic will be held!

Rescue volunteers, Peggy, Roger and Julie worked the Sheltie table at the Golden Gate Kennel Club show at the Cow Palace on January 25, 2009. We visited with adopters who dropped by to say hello and met other lovers of the breed. A great opportunity to share our love of our wonderful breed.
Scottish Games 2009
Sheltie Rescue had a terrific turn out at the 2009 Sacramento Caledonian Club's Scottish Games in Woodland. Photo taken during one of the few lulls in visitors stopping by to admire the many adopted shelties we brought.
Sheltie Picnic 2009
Despite it being a HOT summer day on Saturday, July 18th we had nearly 100 participants and at least that many shelties at our annual picnic and fun day. Among other activities there were instinct testing for herding, 14 shelties passing the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test, and a large fenced area giving the dogs lots of room to play tag and zoom around. Great picnic and great camaraderie! Thanks to Nola at Performance Dogs In Action in No. Sacramento for giving us a super venue for our annual event. www.performancedogsinaction.com
